Key Priorities for 2023-24

  • Launch a new social media strategy on Instagram (@queerprincetonalumni) and Facebook. Create targeted outreach to young alums using social media.

  • Expand partnership with CORA regarding ‘Celebrating Princeton Pride’ events in the regional associations.

  • Launch partnership with ABPA for event celebrating the black queer tradition, originally centered on the intersection of Juneteenth and Pride Month.

  • Launch multi-faith initiative on queer expressions of faith in partnership with the Office of Religious Life at Princeton. 

  • Start new Alumni Day tradition.

  • Plan a Reunions party that will be epic!

  • Continue to directly engage with and provide support to the undergrads and graduate students through the GSRC, Pride Alliance, and Queer Graduate Caucus.

  • Continue to work with GSS on the launch of the new post-doctoral fellowship in queer studies.

Recurring activities

  • Fund two grants at Princeton Internships in Civic Services (PICS) to co-sponsor summer internships for Princeton students at Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and National LGBTQ Task Force.

  • Sponsor the QPA Award at Lavender Graduation.

  • Organize regional events for LGBTQIA+ alumni in various cities, usually co-sponsored with gay alumni groups from peer universities.

  • Support the Student Emergency Fund administered by the Director of the GSRC (Gender & Sexuality Resource Center at Princeton).

  • Support additional work on the LGBTQIA+ Oral History Project at Princeton.

  • Identify alumni for the LGBTQIA+ student-alumni mentoring program.
