Loretta Goldberg
Australian native and longtime NYC resident, Loretta Goldberg writes historical literary fiction with battle scenes. She loves this genre because she finds in history’s frames, where events have beginnings and endings, a magical mirror in which we can see ourselves more fully. Her debut novel, The Reversible Mask: An Elizabethan Spy Novel, won the International Firebird Book Award in Historical Fiction and New Fiction in 2023. It also won a Book Excellence Finalists Award in 2019.

Her second novel, Beyond the Bukubuk Tree: A World War II Novel of Love and Loss, won International Firebird Book Awards in 2023 in War Fiction.  This meticulously researched and richly textured novel is set in a lesser-known battle of the Pacific War featuring an idealistic Jewish doctor and a soul-scarred Catholic veteran of WWII. The strength of the human spirit and bonds of love are tested against the backdrop of these battles. "Beyond the Bukubuk Tree" is a gripping saga of courage and resilience of diverse communities in the face of overwhelming adversity.

Frank Spinelli
An American-born physician and writer, Frank Spinelli is the author of The Advocate Guide to Gay Men’s Health & Wellness published by Alyson Books in 2008, Pee-Shy: A Memoir published by Kensington Books in 2013, Perfect Flaw published by Blind Eye Books in 2022 and No Angels Wept published in 2023  He has made appearances on Sirius Radio’s Morning Jolt with Larry Flick and co-hosted Speak Out: Real Talk About AIDS. His documentary credits include 30 Years from Here (Emmy nominated,) Positive Youth, and I’m a Porn Star. Dr. Spinelli’s television credits include ABC News, NBC Nightly News, MTV, and Sesame Street - as well as the host of Dueling Doctors.

No Angels Wept is the arresting second installment of Angelo Perrotta Mysteries. Angelo agrees to appear on the widely controversial satellite radio crime show, A Thorny Mess, to recount his tragic first year in private practice. Shortly after arriving in Los Angeles, he becomes entangled in a string of murders targeting gay male sex workers perpetrated by the No Angels Wept Killer.
